Biography

Attorney Paul V. L. Campo has more than 30 years of experience providing a full spectrum of legal services to his clients. His practice areas include estate planning, probate, conservatorships, and guardianships. Paul seamlessly guides his clients through the complexities of court procedures and deadlines imposed under California law for probate and trust administration. He believes that an essential skill when meeting with his clients is to listen to them, rather than to talk at them.

Paul takes great pride in helping people achieve their estate planning goals. He knows that just preparing a will or a trust is never enough – people need advance health care directives, powers of attorney and other related documents. He analyzes the unique needs of his clients to draft documents tailored to their individual requirements.

Paul is a native of Vista. After graduating from Vista High School, he attended Stanford University and received his B.A. in 1981. He then attended the UCLA School of Law, and graduated with a J.D. in 1984. While in law school he was an editor of the law review and a member of the moot court honors program. After leaving law school, Paul worked for two large corporate law firms. That experience made him realize that all people should receive the highest caliber of representation without paying the costs of high-rise suites and custom-decorated offices. Since opening his own firm, Paul has consistently worked hard to achieve these goals.

Paul has a deep commitment to helping his community outside of his law practice. His civic involvement includes serving as a Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Vista, as a member and Chairman of the Encina Wastewater Authority, and as a member of the governing board of the Tri-City Healthcare District. Charitable work is very important to Paul, as his time on the boards of the Tri-City Hospital Foundation and the Foundation of the Elizabeth Hospice can attest.

When not at the office or working to improve his community, Paul enjoys traveling, reading, walking his dog, and spending time with his close friends.
